Palmyra

The original image of Hill Cumorah in Palmyra shown here is more than 100 years old. At that time, as indicated by the fences and treeless slopes, the hill was used for agricultural purposes. Today it is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A visitor's center is now located at the base of the hill and a statue of the Angel Moroni is located near the top.

This hand-tinted photographic image of men and boys standing outside Palmyra's Trolley Station likely dates from about 1915. PALMYRA is written clearly and boldly on the sign above them. The area where this building once stood is now public parking with the Village Hall just to the west, the edge of which is shown here.

This hand-tinted photographic image of Crandall Packing Works likely dates from 1910-1920. This company is known today as Garlock Sealing Technologies, one of Palmyra's largest employers.
