This image of colorful canoes on the Lake at Delaware Park dates from the middle 1940s.

This beautiful Harbor images shows several docked steamers. Notice the man standing on the deck of the boat in the forward left of this scene giving scale to the size of these boats.

This image dates from 1910. Anyone who has stood on the shores of the Great Lakes knows the smell of their fresh waters and the sound of their waves lapping rocky shores.

Rich colors make for a lovely sunset image of boats on Seneca Lake. From a postcard dated 1907. The forlorn message on the back of the card reads,

“Hello Lena are you dead or got the writers cramp. I have wrote to you and had no ans. Frances.”

This card was originally addressed to Mrs. D. A. Biss in Saratoga Springs. This image makes a nice companion to Stomping Ground Item #USNYSNL-001.

From an early 20th century postcard showing two large sailboats against the sunset. Very pretty image with striking orange and blue-green tones. This image makes a nice companion to Stomping Grounds Item #USNYSNL-002.

Curt-Teich postcard image from 1949. The reverse side caption reads,

“The Canandaigua Yacht Club during the summer months hold sailing races every Sunday.” The linen look of Curt-Teich cards gives this image added depth and texture.

This colorful image from a 1940s linen postcard shows a pleasure cruise on the lake in a Roseland boat. The original postcard message reads,

“Hi Jean, Having one smooth time up here. Went to Roseland Amusement Park last night and rode on everything also danced. Going swimming down to the lake now – see you soon- Eleanor.”
