Chicago

This gorgeous image of Garfield Park shows people lounging on park benches near the water. A variety of men and women are shown including a couple of mothers with baby buggies. Ducks dot the foreground. Picturesque and lovely, this is one of our favorites.

Though the focal point of this image is the sheep, two rowboats have just passed under the wooden bridge below. From the boats onlookers within the picture also gaze at the "pretty lawn mowers."

An idyllic summer scene in early 1900s Chicago.

This image shows people getting on and off the Excursion Steamers at Lake Michigan docks. Two boats are shown at the shore. A third can be seen in the distance.

The German Building and the reflective pool of water catch one's eye, but notice the lone figure standing at the water's edge enjoying the view.

This bold image comes from an early 20th century postcard. The reverse side caption reads:

Located at Polk and Dearborn Streets, one of the oldest railway stations in the city, is the terminal of the Santa Fe, C. & E. I., Monon, Wabash, Erie, C. & W. I., Grand Trunk and C. & O. Railroads.

Notice the early 20th century automobiles parked on the drive outside the administration building. The red tiled roof and the fountain give this image some extra eye catching qualities.
