Geneva

One of the nicest things about Geneva's downtown is that so many of its old buildings still stand today, as evident in this Seneca Street postcard. The shop awnings may have been replaced by modern signage, but many familiar landmarks remain.

This lovely early 20th century image of one of the stately Experimental Station buildings was published right in Geneva, NY, where the Station remains to this day. Note the American flag flying over the neighboring Parrott building. The trees shown in the foreground would be quite a bit bigger today.

Ladies stroll the attractive grounds of the Experimental Station, shaded from the sun by a parasol.

This image of the Geneva City Hospital is nicely detailed and shows how much this institution has changed in the many decades since the image was first captured.

Curt-Teich postcard image from 1943. Anyone who has visited Seneca Lake State Park will recognize the beautiful line of trees that still borders the water today. The city of Geneva is shown in the western background. The linen look of Curt-Teich cards gives this image added depth and texture.

From an early 20th century postcard image showing St. Peters Episcopal Church on Genesee St. in Geneva.

This pretty image of South Main St. as seen from the waters of Seneca Lake shows some of Geneva's most familiar buildings perched serenely above.
